Perimenopause and Menopause Care
perimenopause and menopause
Perimenopause and menopause: if you are transitioning through menopause and experiencing uncomfortable symptoms or if you want to know more about your health during this time, please schedule a visit. Menopause brings with it many changes. Symptoms can include hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness or pain, urinary discomforts, changes in libido, pain during sex, changes in your periods, weight gain, and declining fertility. In addition, some individuals have trouble sleeping, joint pain, and changes in mood.
First visit: your first visit is in depth and will be used to review your medical and family history, as well as your specific physical and emotional concerns. We will have a discussion regarding non-medical options and medical options for care and symptom relief. Based on your preferences, education will be provided regarding hormone replacement therapy (HRT) options. This is an in depth discussion that reviews risks and benefits of treatment in the context of your particular health history. Additionally, there is a great deal of misinformation regarding HRT. We will discuss what the most up to date studies are saying about HRT, as well as the safety of HRT.
Ongoing care: we can provide prescriptions for HRT and other medications for symptom relief. Each individual may respond slightly differently to prescribed medications. We will work with you over a period of months to find which options will work best for you.
Telehealth: telehealth is available for perimenopause and menopause care. Please note that in certain circumstances, an in person visit may be indicated.
